Current Favorite Things

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Hello everyone! I have been working on lots of DIY blog post ideas and cant wait to share them! Today I thought I would share some of my favorite things i have come across recently.
*My first favorite thing is watercolors. I got this set on my birthday from Michaels and its the best! There are so many great colors and they are very pigmented so the color comes out really nice. I've also been working on finishing this watercolor building from my art class at school and the dark red color is perfect for the building. I'm hoping to do a DIY post with watercolors soon!
* A couple weeks ago my mom my sister and I drove over to Denver, Co to watch the musical Wicked and it was Amazing!!!  This musical has some of the best songs, my favorites are "Popular", "Dancing Through Life", "For Good", and of course "Defying Gravity". The best moment is when Elphaba is lifted in to the sky and sings the last notes of "Defying Gravity".  The sets and costumes were also super amazing.
* My next favorite thing is this little shelf from Ikea. It's called raskog. on our trip to go see Wicked we also made a visit Ikea. I the store was a lot huger that i expected but they had a lot of cool house stuff for pretty cheap.
*My last favorite thing is this app Phhhoto. It makes stop motion gif videos by taking a few really fast photos then loops them back. I have made a lot of really cool and funny ones.

DIY Washi Tape Magnets

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Materials:
Card stock
Magnet strip
A Marker
Cute Washi Tape
Step 1: Draw some cute shapes for your magnets (Hearts, diamonds, stars, etc.)
Then, cut the shapes out.
Step 2: Place washi tape of your choice over the the card stock shapes. You can use different mix different tapes to create a cute contrasting look. Next cut the excess tape following the edges of
the shape.

Step 4: Cut a small square to fit the size of the shape so it is not seen from the front. Then place it on the back of the shape.
Step 5: This step is the most fun! Find all your cutest pictures, postcards, paintings (and even princess autographs) to hang with the magnets on your refrigerator or any thing else magnetic.
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post. Comment below with some cute shape or washi tape ideas for this project!

DIY Felt Earbud Holder

Saturday, January 31, 2015

I'm always throwing my headphones into my backpack or purse where they always
get super tangled. I've seen some cute headphone holders on Etsy and Pinterest and
I knew I had to make my own. There great at keeping ear buds untangled and there
super easy to make!

You'll Need: Two colors of felt, Scissors, Two jars of different sizes, a sewing machine or
needle and thread, Chalk, and a button

Start by tracing around the jars on the felt using chalk. You'll want two different sized
circles from different colors of felt.
Next cut out the two circles you traced. I used special scissors called pinking shears to make
this cute zigzag design.
Now place the smaller circle in the center of the large circle and sew them together.
Next you'll want to sew on a button. Make sure to put the button on the inside of the ear
bud holder. For example I flipped mine over to the yellow side and and placed the button
close to the top.To find the where to put the button hole fold it in half and cut a small slit
where the button meets.
Now your done! you'll will never have tangled ear buds again. :)

I love these so much. There super useful and super cute. Definitely a win win!I hope you like
this DIY. Thanks for reading!
